This individual assessment was part of my Media Law and Ethics course, where I dove into the legal foundations shaping media practice in Malaysia. The write-up explores my understanding of core legal elements, including the Federal Constitution, Freedom of Speech, and the Sedition Act, through the lens of a specific case study.
It was eye-opening to dissect how these laws work together (and sometimes against each other) in real-world scenarios. I reflected not just on legal boundaries, but also on the ethical responsibilities that come with working in media.
This place marks my first deeper step into the intersection of media, governance, and civic voice. It left me with more questions than answers, which I think is exactly the point!
