COM2109 - Where Strategy Meets Compassion

This press release was written as part of a virtual mental health awareness campaign during my Public Relations Strategies course. Our group collaborated with Befrienders Penang to organise a virtual fundraising event, aiming to help the organisation improve its facilities and expand their life-saving support for those struggling with mental health.
Although I was not the project director, I played an active role in crafting the press release, drawing on what I had previously learned in Principles of Public Relations. The goal was to create a piece that was both professional and empathetic, aligning with the tone and mission of the campaign.
It was a proud moment for me, using writing as a bridge between cause and community, and learning how PR can do more than manage image. It can rally support, build trust, and start conversations that matter.
