This was my individual assignment for the Media Issues & Content course, where I chose to dive into the ongoing conversation about gender equality. The write-up explores the historical and contemporary challenges women have faced, not only in real life, but also in how they have been portrayed across various media platforms.
From stereotypical roles in film and advertising to the underrepresentation of women in leadership media positions, I unpacked how these portrayals affect public perception and societal norms. I also reflected on recent shifts in representation, the rise of inclusive narratives, and proposed solutions for building a more balanced media landscape.
This assignment strengthened both my critical thinking and empathy, reminding me that the stories we consume shape the world we live in.
