As part of our Developmental Communication coursework, we rolled up our sleeves (and silicone cups) to take part in INTI International Environmental Day 2024. Our goal? TO nudge the campus community toward a more sustainable lifestyle, minus the preachiness, plus a little creativity.

Our Mission

We launched a mini green campaign featuring three eco-friendly products:

  • Nature Write Dock: Desk organisers made from recycled cardboard & plastic bottles

  • Microfiber Tissues: Soft, reusable, and much cooler than they sound

  • Foldable Silicone Cups: Portable hydration, minus the plastic guilt

Eco-bracelets and an upcycling station did not make the cut due to budget and timeline constraints (RIP, Pinterest dreams).

My Role & The Dream Team

I led the project, coordinating schedules, producing desk organisers, and co-creating visuals and marketing strategies. My teammates handled everything from decorations and product sourcing to guerrilla marketing and managing the Instagram feed (yes, there was a countdown).

Campaign Highlights

  • A curated Instagram feed featuring product teases and team intros

  • Guerrilla marketing with Earth-shaped invites sneakily placed around campus

  • Collaboration with other faculties to film promos and hype the event

  • A hands-on booth experience that didn't just look good; it sold

The Impact

We sold 61 items, earned RM466, and saw the foldable cups and microfiber tissues fly off the table. With RM207.47 in startup costs, our campaign not only broke even but successfully planted the seeds of sustainable thinking across campus.

This wasn't just a class project. It was a reminder that small, thoughtful actions (and good design!) can make sustainability feel a little less daunting and a lot more doable.
