"Echoes of Kampung" is not your typical festive play. Set against the heartwarming chaos of a Hari Raya celebration, this original screenplay dives deep into the philosophical weight of tradition in a modern world that is constantly evolving.

Written and performed for our Philosophy & Current Issues course, the story follows intergenerational tensions, quiet wisdom passed down over rendang and kuih, and that inevitable moment when you realise ... maybe mak and tok wan were right all along.

From conceptualisation to acting it out with classmates (yes, in baju kurung and full festive mode), this was one of the most meaningful scripts I have ever worked on. Because sometimes, holding onto our roots is the boldest step forward.
