What started as a class requirement for my Community Service course turned into something more meaningful, a hands-on experience in planning, executing, and learning from a real-life fundraising event. Our mission was simple: raise funds to support a refugee centre, and in the process, raise awareness about the struggles faced by displaced communities.

From selling homemade soya puddings to custom virtual art, this project taught us the power of teamwork, the value of preparation, and the unexpected lessons that come with navigating challenges on the ground. In this postmortem report, we reflect on what went right, what went wrong, and what we would do differently next time. The reason is that community work does not end at the event, it continues in how we grow from it.
